Java is a plattform independent programming language. Therefore it should be easily possible to offer the OSX users to use programms written in java.
Here we will discuss the issues relating the use of the Com-Port on a OSX-System.

To use the serial port it's necessary to install the driver RXTX which is available for most operating systems ( http://www.rxtx.org ).
